I keep my reps up these days, sets of 20, 15 and 10. Finish with descending sets.

Yes. For muscle shaping (bodybuilding), you'll want to hit the muscle from every angle. That's where the incline, decline, wide-grip, narrow-grip comes in. So I agree with you there. I've read before that doing every set to failure could be somewhat detrimental to growth, but if you read enough fitness/workout/muscle-building things, you'll find that a lot of what people claim to be try contradicts each other. In my personal experience, lower reps build more muscle mass, and is better for your joints because you're not taxing them repeatedly, but whatever works.

Well, most say lower reps for pure mass. Certainly lower reps for more strength. I guess it just depends on the reason for training.

I'd say it gets easier but it doesn't. You just go faster :-)

Seriously things will get ease as you adapt. Maybe don't ride every day, give your muscles time to recover, if you hit them everyday they can't.
If you have to ride everyday the rule is Easy. Hard. Easy. Hard.

I've managed my first 100 mile week since my off, very happy.
Finally feeling fit again and my average speed is up to 18 riding at threshold.

Now where is that large reward cake and those beers

That's not very encouraging I'm being sensible and not going too fast too soon, and using the gears (got 24 to play with) to minimize strain.
I'm putting it down to unused muscle groups; not ridden a bike for decades.
Despite the aches (thigh muscles, mostly), I feel better for it.

You'll get there no trouble. It is just unused muscles. You get something called delayed onset muscle soreness at first. Stretches before and after riding helps.

Thigh muscle aches are infinitely preferable to saddle soreness.
    Keep at it!

Recent change to my exercise regime means I am now trying Yoga. So far Hot Power Flow and Hot Dynamic Vinyasa. Roughly translated means sweaty and hard or sweaty and very hard - at least for me.

I know some positions form previous exercise classes but there are many new positions and names to learn. Good to change things up once in a while.

I do find it hard to do something like crow if you are so drenched in sweat your knees slip off your arms.

Any other yoga practicers (or what ever the correct term is) here?

    Practitioners?

People say I'm getting bigger, which is nice. Lifting big weights and eating lots, inc protein... Loving it.

Shifting from dumb bells to kettle bells for some of my upper body workouts.

    Wow, what a difference!
