I had intended to make merguez sausage the other day when I was making the green chorizo, but didn't have time, so today it was merguez patties on baguette with onions, carrots and peppers caramelised in honey and balsamic vinegar.

Wife made a roast chicken, cherry tomatoes, black bean and corn salad with a homemade garlic, salt, olive oil and white vinegar dressing and it was great!!!

The sémillon didn't really pair perfect (I popped the bottle when I saw the chicken before I knew about the salad), but it was still quite good.

If by "snob" you mean I am passionate about what I drink and enjoy sharing that with friends and family, that I enjoying trying new styles and producers, that I'm not really overly concerned with "proper pairing etiquette" (I'll drink a red with fish damn it) and that I probably buy more wine per year than I can drink without adversely effecting my health... Then, yes.

However, if by "snob" you mean a douche canoe who thinks he knows more than he actually does and looks down on those who's palate don't align with his (I don't care if you want to drink 2-buck chuck, just don't expect me to).. Then, no.

    I figured as much...

If you ever find yourself in southern Louisiana, hit me up and I'll grill you up a steak and serve you some fine wine that'll knock your socks off...
