Where I found that piece of information someone was pointing out that the 8500 is fractionally slimmer than the classic cal.501

Would also add Miyota 9015 3.9mm and Soprod A-10 3.6mm to that list (although Soprod A-10 is just a re-branded Seiko 4L25 previously used in Credor models).
With a movement thickness of 6mm Rolex does extremely well to make their watches so thin in comparison to Omega for example. (although I generally prefer Omega)

Sorry can't find other 9S heights. On a list of historical Seiko movements not much was sub-5mm
Found that the 6100 family used in GSs in the early 70s was 5.25mm: Watch-wiki
I've a manual version of it in a Skyliner which has that boxy style of crystal, the whole watch is only about 8.5mm
The recent SBGW047 manual (with a 9S64 movement) was 11.5mm

Gorgeous.
But if I were being picky - and I think you can be picky with a Grand Seiko - both red accents should be the same shade. The text looks too vivid, unless it's an unreliable picture.

There's actually a few IRL pics floating around....
I like it even more than my other Snowflake romance, the long gone SBGA115

Good lord. That is fantastic. It shouldn't work with the red accents, but it does.

Making some changes to my collection Domo, the 083 has gone (for exactly same price I paid for it!!!-but still kinda regretting it) and i'm not enjoying the SBGA105, it wears really large, and too big for my liking, its comfortable but it wears far too big (like a 42mm - those lugs!!) So may let it go.
Don't worry though, i'm not leaving GS, no way, i've got a SBGR059 on the way - titanium, brushed lugs that match the bracelet, blue seconds and 38mm - perfect.
