I'm an iPhone guy, and I once had and enjoyed an Apple watch. My problems are: (1) I want to wear a tracker 24/7, but I don't want to stop wearing my Tudor, Seikos, Omegas, G-Shocks, etc. I thought expensive to buy an Apple Watch to wear only during exercise. Is that what you do? If so, does that work well for you? Or has the Apple watch largely supplanted your other watches?

My solution over the years, since the early days of FitBit has been to wear a tracker24/7'on my opposite hand. I went from FitBit to Garmin and now back to FitBit. The Charge 6 is basically fine for my current needs. And it does help motivate me to move, even when I'm not officially "exercising".

Augie and I took a walk around the Central Park Bridle Path today. Moderate pace. 2.5 more or less, including walking to and from the path.

When he and I go out for our late evening quick walk, I'll approach 9,000 steps.

Strange. 2 or 3 miles doesn't seem that much.
But then again -- I probably increased distances way too fast. I think I have pretty strong tendons and ligaments. I did taekwondo for 2 years between the ages of 15 and 17 -- and no matter how much stretching I did (and I trained 2x a week and every day at home) -- I never could get the full split.
I also did quite a lot of stuff in my youth that might actually have strengthened my tendons, like inline-skating, skiing, tons of bike rides, weight training. But I got real lazy after I met my wife (how cliché) at 29. Ended up gaining about 5 lbs each year of our relationship (later marriage) until I had reached 242 in the fall of 2023. I already had lost a little weight when I started running.
I also try to avoid asphalt and concrete -- I mainly run on forest roads and gravel roads between fields -- we have a lot of those in Germany. And we live in an area where there is a large forest region nearby without any larger roads cutting through. Ideal conditions for running. I go out the door and depending on the direction I take -- I'm in open nature about 5 minutes into the run.
    Cheers, Sedi

Rest day today. Just a stroll with the dog down to the drug store (or "chemist" as you Brits seem to call it) and back.

90 Day progress report. I blame my anniversary dinner and some other factors for not hitting below 200 by the end of the month. But still, some progress is better than no progress.

Great progress @Spooky! I always tell my clients, "don't let perfect be the enemy of good". We can't burn it down every day, but we can show up and make forward progress.

As I know you know, it's a marathon, not a sprint. There will be other anniversary dinners, etc. and you should enjoy them.

You're absolutely killing it. I hope you're as stoked about that as we are for you!

    Any Doctors in the house?

So I've been unable to exercise or do much for about the last week.

Put up a Trampoline for Freyja on Sunday, and ever since I feel as though I've pulled both my hamstrings. Not aware that I've overdone anything, but it is properly painful to stretch out just to put my boots on. Also felt like I had what I might call a "flare up" with my ankle over the weekend as well. I'm super confused. Went from running to struggling to walk?
