Once around the bridle path in Central Park today. Nice brisk walk with the dog.

Well, the wife might have Strep. She's off to the Doc to determine what's up with her throat. No idea where she picked that up. I thought we were a firmly Influenza-A household.
Haven't been able to exercise like I want to, but still able to control intake. Still seem to be making progress.
Statistically it seems the odds of losing weight aren't the problem, it's the long term keeping it off that bites people. I suppose that remains to be seen. Will have a Freyja to keep up with for a long time, so that's something.
EDIT: Wife does not have strep. Possible generalized infection of some sort resulting from probably having Influenza along with the rest of us. Depending on how she feels we have Tickets to a Hockey Game this evening.![]()

That's exactly right. Even the best/sanest programs out there have "recidivism" rates well over 90%. It's too early to see how the newest generation of drugs (Ozempic, etc.) will fare in the long run.
The million dollar question is why. I don't think there are fully clear answers to that question, but it is clear that biology plays a much larger role than previously thought.

I'd bet a lot of money that people who were successful with Ozempic and other GLP-1 inhibitors will gain back equal to or worse than even fad diets. They seem to kill hunger while addressing absolutely none of the lifestyle issues. Personally on this most recent journey, I lost about 20 pounds purely from diet before I started doing a bunch of exercise. I'm a bored eater, a snacker, a drinker, and always had room for dessert. I've been forced to curtail these behaviors. (My wife was on Ozempic and lost about 25 pounds, but then went off of it and gained 10 back almost immediately. She's a bored eater/snacker as well.)
When I was pushing 275, I was averaging about 3 Guinness an evening. Or a few drinks of Bourbon every other night. I still enjoy a drink, and while I'd never classify what I was doing as a "drinking problem", it certainly wasn't doing me any favors. No withdrawals or interference with work. Dunno, call it hobby drinking. I have better hobbies now.
Currently so busy, including travel, that I have shifted into a shorter workout focus on maintain interspersed with HIIT to quick burn calories
Not my preference, but one must adjust at times
Ready to get back in a routine
