I saw this in a marketing email from
CW. Not particularly a fan of this release. One model has an ivory/sand colored dial; the hands disappear, at least in the photos.

One of my few genuine pet peeves in watches (as opposed to things I just don't like) is open date windows. If today is the 23rd and you can't work out what date tomorrow is then... Give up.

I know I’m generally down on dates and downright sour on open dates, but…what even is supposed to be the date here? Is it the 15? If you’re going to do a date complication that monumentally annoying, you need to make the actual date incredibly conspicuous and here it just isn’t, only set off by two very thin strips of dial material which is basically the same color as the date wheel. Terrible idea implemented even worse.

In an effort to be less negative, I will say that I like the color of the 6 o’clock subdial. That’s quite nice.

I find Zenith has really gone downhill. They just keep rehashing the Defy series. But I guess you could say that with a lot of other brands.

Certainly. I just happen to like the Defy’s shape, though not enough to be moved to put one near the top of my list yet. If that were a regular dial chronograph in that color, I would have been deeply interested.
