Was greeted by this sexy beast when I got home tonight. The composition against the two black SUVs and the backlighting in the darkness made me pull out my phone and take a pic. It’s so nice to love your car.

Just wish I weren’t too drunk to drive right now (not that NYE in the city is remotely a good time to be on the road).

    Known Flaws

    • Exterior chips, scratches, dings, and paint imperfections
    • Wear on the upholstery and interior touch points
    • Cracks in some of the interior trim pieces; flaking finish on the shifter bezel's bright trim
    • Driver-side dashboard end cap missing
    • Stains on the carpet
    • Delamination on the rear-view mirror
    • Headliner missing
    • Several warning lights are illuminated in the instrument cluster; the cruise control doesn't work.
    • The seller reports a 30-second beep about five minutes after the engine starts (reportedly due to a missing "trunk closed" sensor).
    • The seller notes "a small burning oil smell after driving the car once it has sat for some time" (reportedly due to a leaking valve cover gasket).
    • The seller adds that "gas must be added slowly to avoid spillage."
    • The seller states that the paintwork and the bodywork are "fairly rough," that the body is not watertight, and that there are "some squeaks and rattles." Please contact the seller directly for more details.

That certainly makes it worse. But even done well, it looks terrible.

I feel like their are two different types of car lovers who would be deeply offended by that car.

Most definitely. They took two good looking cars in their own right and married them into an abomination.

Karmann Ghia where coach built cars. None of them weighed the same since the front ends were lead filled and filed to form the nose, Looking at the pictures it's very hard to tell what actually from a Karmann Ghia is there. I think the roof, doors and maybe something from the side panels are from the VW. The chassis and engine bay appears to be all MB. Since this is a unibody chassis and some of the structure is missing this thing could fold going down the road. I'm betting these are from wrecked cars and just pieces of multiple cars. I seriously doubt anything of value was sacrificed. There may be a usable part here or there, but the poor paint, definite signs of several gallons of plastic filler, ill fitting aftermarket pieces to solve things like too wide of tires, and pook calking work this is beyond a total POS. I'd actually like to see this thing since it's level of bad borders on comical. I would never get in it and drive it. Work that bad is just dangerous.
Seems like the bidding should be for what you would charge to haul it to the dump.

That SLKarmann went for $14,000. 14 grand! For that!? Someone is walking away with $13,000 more than they thought they were going to get for it, that’s for sure.
