    Yes, I do think there’s some similarity to Mars Attacks. Mars Attacks was more adult than Pixels; I remember wanting to see it because it had Michael J. Fox in it, but I wasn’t allowed for some reason. And most certainly, if I remember Marty McFly’s fate in that movie, I am glad I wasn’t allowed, because I would have been completely traumatized seeing that.

    Oh thank goodness! My brother didn’t like it either, but I remain completely baffled as to how low the bar is for some of these movies. Even in my piece where I wrote about finding comfort in Pixels, I never called it a good movie and I’m not even sure I said I liked it, just that it was the right kind of bad that I needed in that moment.
