I used to be strictly a letter sized guy, but since getting “into” notebooks as a thing because I missed the tactile feel of writing, I’ve settled on A5 to be the all around ideal for me. I use a lot of top spiral letter sized stuff still, but I like that A5 fits easily in any bag or briefcase I own and it’s small enough to write will sitting just about anywhere, whether or not I have a desk to write on. I’ve done tons of writing in A5 and I never felt like I have to abridge myself because of the physical size of the paper. In fact, the notebook that I keep in my bag at all times is the A5 Orbitkey Compendium:

I do plan on getting the A4 size at some point, but the A5 is my go to notebook.
