Been wearing this quite a bit lately. The first Rolex I ever bought. I took it on a recent NYC trip because I wanted something low key and it has claimed a lot of wrist time since.
I saw the red mail van through the window. Was that parcel in his hand big enough? Yes it was - my new watch. No need to size the bracelet - straight on to my wrist. Looked great with my dressing gown and slippers.
My first thought (after “Green box - Rolex!”) was comfort. A watch instantly at home, with its feet under the table. My eyes told me the same thing. I don’t know how much contribution it makes, but the 19mm bracelet tapering to 14mm (clasp 16mm) looks and feels just right, as does the 36mm diameter. It was a while before I looked at the watch in any detail (all excellent) because I liked it so much at arm’s length.
The watch came with all of its tags, which proved to be interesting. The original AD price tag was there, as was my dealer’s price tag. I paid within a few £s of the current list price, but the out-of-date tag that my dealer had forgotten to remove was for £1,000 more. The dealer moves this kind of stock quite quickly, so it’s an indication of how the market has been shifting. Sanity is being restored.
My prevailing thought after a few hours is that I’m remembering how it is to have just one watch, with no great temptation to have more. Early days (or hours), of course.

a DW-9050 think had this as one of my longest own and oldest watches as from 1995 I restored it bout fifteen years ago give or take a few years could be even longer
