Hah... 30 year career? (wikipedia) I was a few years old when I heard the Warlocks practicing in a garage behind our house in Menlo Park CA, around 1966. My dad used to fix guitar amps for Guitars Unlimited in the early 70s when he was unemployed, and he used to laugh at the stains on some old Fenders. That culture has been a part of my life ever since, whether or not I knew it. May Phil find his beautiful box of rain.
guess hayday won't be wanting to hear this one think it's his fav band of all time

Add Chad McQueen and Fernando Valenzuela. Both were 63 years old and may have died on the same day.

He'd been in poor health for a while. He stopped touring with other Grateful Dead members a few years ago, and only did a few Phil Lesh and Friends gigs for fun. Kreutzmann isn't in the greatest of health these days either. Bob and Mickey seem to be doing well. Especially Bob. He works out a lot and is pretty effin' ripped.

By many accounts, he was by far the band member most popular with women. Life isn't fair!
RIP Mr. Lesh.

I was interested to read that, beyond his classical training, Lesh cited Jack Bruce (Cream) and Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane & Hot Tuna) as influences on his bass playing. I think I can hear Casady's influence; it's harder for me to detect Bruce. Of course, in the end, Lesh developed his own style and sounded like no one else.

Such a great talent. She was so good at the roles she took. She didn't play a character. She was the character. Thanks for everything, Teri!
