After the X-Files ended, she moved back to London to do theatre and married a Brit. And then divorced, and married another Brit. And then divorced again. A couple of kids were born along the way.

I found it a bit underwhelming at first but interesting enough to keep watching. Then I think from ep. 5 it started digging really deep, and I mean really, really deep. The ending a bit predictable (or maybe just well led to?) but good, nevertheless.

So, I’m on Not Going Out series 8. Does it get good again? They’re really struggling to not feel like a 90s family sitcom at this point, and losing Tim Vine and Katy Wix really hurt the dynamic, as good a replacement as Hugh Dennis is. I love ol’ Desky, but the show needs something a bit more.

Oh gawd, I thought that was awful. I say ‘was’ because I only watched it if it happened to be following something else, and that was a few years ago. Contrived, artificial, overwritten, and as annoyingly relentless as a dripping tap. It was like a classic West End farce in a way, but they haven’t been popular since I was a lad.

The whole series run or just after Series 7? Either way, I don’t disagree with your assessment, but I like Lee Mack, so it works well enough for me. Not great, but the jokes come fast enough that the low hit rate still leaves me laughing enough to justify the time spent.

I don’t know what series I’ve seen. It seems like it’s been running for most of the century. Most that I’ve seen would have been earlier rather than later.
