I never understood the point of nonalcoholic beer either, but I’ve found out that many people who have quit alcohol (whether a recovering alcoholic or for other reasons) drink nonalcoholic beer on occasion because they miss the taste and experience of beer, but wish to remain alcohol free.

that don't really mean anything if you are a recovering alcoholic trust me I know (13 years ) I wont ever have anything that taste of alcohol or has trace amount of it in it ... just too tempting to slip back down that slope .. but the whole AA thing is avoidance and you just would not ....
yes could see people who don't drink much or often might do that ..

I did say many, not all.
Also, AA isn’t the only way to quit an addiction, lots of people have problems with that organization.

yeah I went self help zero approach when I realised I did not want to live that life anymore (always something happen to make that choice ) i went cold turkey cut out smoking and gambling too so anyone or anywhere that could lead to any of the three was cut out too .. only been in a pub twice in 13 years (after funeral's ) .
