Battery Hatches
As I was changing the batteries on a couple of Q Timex watches, I started wondering why more watches are not made this way -- with batteries that can easily break changed by the watch owner.
Does this design somehow compromised the integrity of the case? The water resistance?

Water resistance is the only issue as far as I know - but then military watches have had battery hatches.

cost simple to produce one solid back or for that matter a rim and class centre then to machine two separate interlocking backs that also need special size gasket for sooo with a battery needing changing once every three plus years simple to go full back . the military having the hatch was so any size battery could be dropped in ..in double quick time anywhere if you are in the deepest jungle don't think many timpson around
