I grew up fishing on a bay off of Lake Ontario, a little to the east of Rochester, NY. We ate a lot of bass, small- and largemouth. I always enjoyed them.
Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Oh, catch and release? Nice.
I’ve never had largemouth bass before, but from quick Googling, it sounds like most people think they taste bad. I’d try it though. I ate turtle and rabbit in the same meal this weekend. I’m down to try just about anything. Though I should say that I’ve had both rabbit and turtle before, but never in the same meal.

I prefer bass blackened. For a freshwater fish, they can taste a bit more fishy than something like Walleye or Trout
