I am yet to have a dog that didn't try to bite my hand off for getting a grinder anywhere near them.
Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

He's is not happy with it, thankfully he's pretty agreeable and lets me do it.

I haven't had any dogs that would bite me, but I couldn't contain my American Bulldog to do her nails. She was too nervous and strong. I took her to a local groomer for nails.

Same, and I'm not a cat person in any way, shape, or form. I'll pet them if they're around me, but I'm a "dogs ruhle, cats druhl" kinda guy. I don't try to run them over, and I do get sad when I see one on the side of the road. Is Dickens any good at mousing, or more importantly, chipmunking? I'm thinking about getting a feral cat to help control the rodent population. @Henry Krinkle

He has all the skills and more; intelligence, speed, wicked fast reactions, and he climbs like a monkey.

The best at that we've ever lived with was the friendliest, prettiest, fluffiest, 21-23 pounds of pure killing machine one is ever likely to meet. No playing around, no hesitation. I never encouraged it, but I saw him take a few things and the bite that severs cats victims spine was always Crackers first bite of consumption. The things I saw him catch almost never knew he was even coming. He's the one that pulled a magpie that was harrassing him out of mid air and then withstood repeated attacks from the magpie's family.
