Yeah probably not for you then. So well done though

It’s not like it’s something I don’t want to watch, it just doesn’t feel as pressing. As someone who is prescribed opioid medication for a chronic condition, I’ve followed the opioid crisis pretty closely for many years now, as I had concerns myself. I’ve also found pain relieving alternatives to my opiates, which have turned them into a last resort rather than a regular occurrence, which, on a personal level, alleviates some worries. I also was never prescribed anything other than codeine and hydrocodone, never oxycodone, thank goodness.

Watched the premiere of Orphan Black Echoes, good enough to see how it goes. Anything with Krysten Ritter should be worth a shot. The role isn't going to be like the original Tatiana Maslany role, since Ritter won't be playing multiple versions of herself, but it still has potential. We'll see.

Finished The Offer. It was pretty good, if you treat it as fictionalized, and as a vanity piece by Ruddy. Some really fun performances, though, specifically by Matthew Goode, Juno Temple and Burn Gorman.

TV you just love (or at least really like)
We gave up cable and all subscriptions in June of 2020 save for YouTube (so Premium is worth the money to us).
If you ever thought “Man, I’d like to see a young Longshanks in a trippier and (somewhat) more serious version of the Austin Powers franchise”, then The Prisoner can be found here:

The Prisoner made a big impression on this 12 year-old, as I think I was at the time.
Hadn’t got a clue what it was about of course, but you could almost absorb it through your skin.

Amazing that you were able to process that show at ~12. My appetite for pop & surrealism will never be fully developed, but the show’s oddness + subject matter were a winning combination. It’s a time capsule worthy, late 60’s bullseye.
My wife got an real kick out of it and my XTC-listening brother would have loved, loved, loved that show so there was always a bit of extra fun & reflection going on when I watched.
