Auto battery charger recommendations

My car’s battery shuffled off to Buffalo this evening and I had to call AAA for a charge. Turns out the battery was DOA and I had to get a new one. I’ve come to the belated conclusion that it would be a sensible thing to carry around a portable battery charger. Since I know buggerall about such devices I’m wondering if anyone hereabouts has recommendations for such a beast.

I’ve got one of these and it works great. I have used it for my car, and to help out some other people. Just search Amazon, they fairly similar, just need to look for the rating (power) for your type of vehicle. i.e. Higher amperage for larger truck/SUV etc…

did a thread ages back on this sort of thing after the battery jumper we had was left in a car after it being total it was a great one multi purpose could jump start a flat car battery and run pc in the wild etc to a amp or whatever took your fancy I replaced it with a .... not that had need yet of it but saying that the car we got now might need it right now though as could not get it to start last time we tried but ant been used in over three months as dads not been up to driving it (automatic )

Is the car driven a lot or does it sit? I have some cars and motorcycles that I didn't drive often and I keep them on tenders. Makes the batteries last much longer.

I have the same problem with the Raptor it just dosent get driven enough or frankly hard enough with Ford's constant OTA updates proximity key and sensors it's always on and doing something whether it's grill shutter actuation ot fuel pump priming its taxing on a battery my kit is all Noco tender goes on once a week and boost always on board and charged and its never failed me and quality is quite good but I especially liked the fact all connections easy and very weatherproof also keeping my key in a Faraday pouch since the truck seems to be constantly seeking it out

I like the Noco stuff, I have that and a Battery Tender brand. The Noco is nice because it does all types of batteries. I have a mix of AGM and lithium.

It’s a daily driver, rarely sitting for more than a single day. I’d gotten a little over 5yrs use out of the battery that died so from what I’ve been told it did okay by me. Fortunately I live in a temperate climate so that prolly contributed to its longevity.
