That is correct; after the F30, they discontinued manuals on the 3 series in the US. So I’m looking for one of those. Same issue with the S4. The 2013-16 models were the last with a manual, so even though newer ones cost just as little or less, the manual older models get snapped up by we wistful few manual drivers left in the States.

My wife asked me this morning what vehicles I want the most. That was a first. I told her the green Raptor or the Nori green (the same color as the Lexus LC I had ) Lexus GX Overtrail. She’s always been good at negotiating to her price. She spent the afternoon playing the two dealers against each other. Amazingly the Lexus is actually the cheaper vehicle by a bit more than $10k. By the sticker price, the Raptor is over my personal limit for what I will spend on a vehicle. If she succeeds one will be my retirement present. I’m staying out of it and it's her project.
Given my list, I guess my sportscar days are over. Now, I want more off-road performance and a different type of on-road performance. That means something that’s comfortable, has lots of space, tows my toys, and can go off-road just below Mountain Goat. I drove the Raptor, and it is amazing how much better the new one is than the old. (Seats are good, but the interior needs several steps up for the price of the truck. I have not driven the GX, but they let me in the display GX Overtrail in Nori Green, the model they had at the 12 hours of Sebring race this year. If this wins out, it will be our 10th Lexus, and we've come to know what to expect.. It is good when everything between the two vehicles works the same (LS and GX), so you don't have to think about it. The truck is more usable, but the Lexus allows us to bring all the dogs and has a better interior even though this is the more offroad model. The Lexus is also far easier to park. Nothing does everything, but these check more boxes than anything else. I also considered the Ram TRX. The RAM TRX would get old with the single-digit mileage around town that even 702hp would not make me forget. The Raptor and Raptor R are more sorted out than the TRX, and I understand the Raptor R 700hp is actually faster and about half as thirsty. I don't want the 700hp Raptor R since I'm looking for a long-term relationship and feel this is a bit too far on the edge and too far north of the six-figure point I don't want to cross. I can't see them discounting it that much that the price would be below six figures. Add that it is far more thirsty than the standard Raptor which has 450hp.
GX Overtrail
Looks good in the sand color also.
