Invest in having a team of people to run alongside the car and relay what’s happening in the outside world as you drive through it….because you can’t see shit out of these Camaros. It’s like looking through the gun slit on a tank.

The Automatic will drive you crazy. After every key reset (Start/Stop) it will start out in first gear the first launch. All the other stops it starts in second gear until you cycle it off and on again. At least that is the way the US one is. There may be a set of buttons and pedal presses that disable this, but do you really want to do that everytime you start off. The panels around the back seat are a wall of the cheapest plastic you have ever seen(Notice they don't show pictures of it). I do like the red seat inserts. Even with the magnetic shocks you'll feel coins on the road like they are boulders. Now if it is the V6 version then I have not experienced those. I'd give it two weeks until you realize it was a bad mistake and not worth the low cost of entry.

I finally found two low mileage (54K and 64K) S4s in my area. One has a spoiler I don’t care for (but is fairly subtle, ducktail style) and they both don’t have the wheels I like, but I think I’m going to try to make a move on one of them.

Wow, when Michael and I agree on something, you know we’re on to something. The Camaro is shit, mate.

It looks cool, that's all I care about. The roads here are all 7 lane motorways, zero fun driving here.

Then you need something to take off road. No road and lot's of opportunity to do stupid things you probably shouldn't. Sounds like fun to me. Different environment, different type of vehicle. If it were me a Ford F150 or Bronco Raptor, Toyota Prado or TRD Pro Highlander, Lexus GX, Land Rover Defender (you get the idea) would be the ticket . No low profile tires and 18" bead lock wheels max with 33-36 inch tires. You want a higher center of gravity and lots of suspension travel. Oh and a built in air compressor to air up the tires after you go play in the sand with them having just a few PSI.

The more important question is why build a transmission that the only way to get the fluid out is to pull the 18"x20" pan out (it had like 20 screws). If it had a drain plug it would be easier and then the pan could be removed to replace the filter and gasket.

To fill the transmission it has a pug on the side. So the fluid must be pumped in with a hooked nozzle until to is at the top of the hole when the car is level. You do this until it runs out. This makes sense when it is installed as line unit at the factory from the bottom. Accessing all these things is easy with no car around them. It's nearly impossible to do in an assembled car without a lot of mess and a lot of cursing. Some manual transmissions allow you to fill them from the shifter hole in the tail end of the transmission with the shifter removed.
And of course they cram the routine maintenance items now in hard to reach places. I needed a new battery for the X1. Generally a 5 min task, now requires removing the air box, front strut brace and a few other random things to get to it.

Review of my rental car in dubai - JAC J7

I'd never heard of JAC. Turns out it's a a Chinese company. This is the first Chinese branded car I've ever even been in, in memory...also my first cvt iirc. First liftback too

    Some specs

    5 door liftback
    1.5 turbo
    150bhp
0-60 in 4.7. That's kmph though, not sure why they list this. 10s to 60mph
    Relaxed spec

These retail for about £10k new I think which is pretty cheap.

    I'll be brief.

The car looks okay. Bright white leds make it look modern, the liftback side profile is a bit odd, but it's a super useful space

The interior is actually very nice. Name: 20240401_125740.jpg

If the top Gear door slam is a sign of quality then this thing is built better than my m4. The clunk is sensational! Sounds superb, feels solid. Very satisfying.

Inside the overuse of various clashing diamond stitching patterns notwithstanding it actually feels decent. Pleather everywhere, steering wheel and indeed steering feels solid. No squeaks or rattles. Seats are comfortable. The vents feel like Audi quality, and the ac is cold.

The gauge cluster a useless. Just digital display showing revs in the format of 0.5 x 1000rpm and a digital speedo. So it says 1.8 and 60 and that's it. This could easily be changed in code I guess. Touch ipad controls in the middle for most things. Fixed volume up and down capacity buttons, though the physical ones on the steering wheel are more useful along with cruise control and track skip. Bluetooth worked okay, android auto needed a cable which I didn't have.

Wheels were okay, a drop might be good.

The engine is obviously somewhat lacking in power but honestly.... It did the job. I think the redline is 4.8k which has to be a record low. Or maybe I just didn't have it in sport mode, I don't understand autos. The cvt felt kind of like any other auto, but despite a 1.5 hour drive to neighbouring Emirate Abu Dhabi this was all motorway cruising, they don't have any other kind of roads here, so it's only really been tested as a cruiser and you know what, it was fine.

I suspect of would be shit on track.

But honestly... I was impressed. I kinda dig it.

Side note. How do we have ai that do what it can do but huge Chinese companies don't have decent translation or bother with a native English speaker proof read it?!

There must be a million native English speakers in China. Or, I could do it.
