I was quite drawn to the Hamilton…until I noticed the overlap between the hour and seconds registers. That annoys me. The Steinhardt is quite nice and at a very attractive price, though it slightly annoys me that the hour and seconds registers overlap with the chapter ring. Still a possibility. The Meistersinger Singulator is an odd duck given that the central hand indicates hours instead of minutes the way a regulateur would. Not a deal breaker though.
If Chronoswiss would ditch that hideous onion crown and just use a disc style crown the way any normal person would I’d be all over them like a cheap suit. Alas…

...and I didn't mention it since Rainer has retired, but I have one of his, and they are excellent. The chances of finding a used one are almost nil, unfortunately.

I am soooooo jealous of your Nienabers. Wish I’d heard of the brand when they were still active. <sigh>

I don't know how much kidneys go for, but this is about £1,700....

... though can be had for about half of that pre-owned; BUT.... its spec shows 45mm.

I don’t know what it is with regulateurs, but some look ‘meant to be’ and some look ‘for the sake of it’.
It’s a matter of proportions and details, I guess, and inevitably it’s the expensive ones that seem to have got it right. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an affordable regulateur that looks right.

Just dropped the hammer on a pre-loved Sinn 6100 in blue. It's naked -- no papers, boxes, etc, so the price was somewhat lower than others with all the detritus. From the supplied pix it looks decent clean. We shall see what we shall see.
As those of you who follow the WRUW posts have gathered I'm a confirmed Sinn fan boi and that largely steered my choice. Hope this plays out nicely. Wish me luck!
