Yep, mine too. We used to call them crumpets just to annoy her, because it was a snear as we dare to a swear word as 'crumpet' had/has another connotation.

No. At least not British Dumplings; which are made with flour & suet.
my aunt use to make these dumpling but they was like hard and we use to have them with gravy on the Sunday dinner instead of Yorkshire puddings

The only way we eat dumplings is with chicken.

We really don't want to get started down the dumpling path. We can't even agree on biscuits for God's sake!

We don't agree on watch choices, either; why should we agree on anything else ?
Some people have opinions - The rest of us have taste.

I'm off to start a new forum called British Biscuits. The main subforum will be called The Caff, obviously. Then subforums for Borders, McVities, etc. Flame wars over shortbread and jaffa cakes.

I have some friends who moved up here after Katrina. They used to live in the Marigny and they recommended it to me. I only ate there once, but enjoyed it quite a bit. It seems to be quite a popular early morning spot. It is a straight up diner too.

I know what it is. Apparently they have a bang up burger. I'll try it one day. The problem with New Orleans is there are literally hundreds of fabulous places to eat. It's hard to hit them all.
