I love how much time you spend on the water (the fishing notwithstanding)

I just retired Geoff so this is what I do. I love being out here, having a few frosties and relaxing I am sure I will get bored when the cold weather hits but I I have some volunteer opportunities coming up and it looks like I will be a taxi service for older folks going to appointments or shopping just hope they can climb into the Raptor

    What are you drinking?

Vodka tonic for the end of what was a very long week. I just spent a few hours reviewing files and lesson planning and my brain is mushy. I have five subjects to prep for, but I have no scheduled prep block. I eat when I have time to cram a couple bites of something into my mouth because I have no scheduled lunch. I’ve supervised people before but I’ve never managed a team of six that is responsible for the educational programming for eight students with high SEL needs and services. Plus, I was hired a week into the school year so I never had any time to prepare. I’m still trying to organize my space and I can’t figure out what that should look like. I don’t even know my room’s phone number. Heck, I don’t even have a key or a name badge yet. I still have to meet with HR so I don’t have insurance and I have no idea if I’ll be paid Friday. On the plus side, my new job pays muuuuuch better.

It’ll be a couple weeks before I get ahead of the lessons so I can start focusing on the paperwork. I need to start doing data collection on these kids and I have no idea what that will look like. I’ve barely thought about grading and I still don’t know the kids very well. I’m trying to remind myself that it’s only been one week but, holy moly, I have a lot to do to get up to speed. It’s been an adjustment to say the least.

Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
