Oh yeah, the F-Type roadster is probably my top choice for modern front engine convertibles. Give me a V6S with a 6 speed manual and I’d be thrilled. Very hard to find, though.

I tested a manual v6 f type and the rev hang was horrible! Enough to totally put me off. I know I sound like a motoring journalist, but I'm not, I just hate delayed things (hence my distaste for autos)

I never tried the manual, but can confirm the auto in manual mode snapped off instant shifts so fast it was amazing. Even left on it's own was very good. You don't want the Supercharged V8, it knocks off the balance. The supercharged six makes the car a razor and with a few OEM parts being swapped and a flash mine dynoed at 525hp at the rear wheels. I don't know if the flash affected the trans programing.
    Cheers,

    Michael

When you take your foot off the gas the revs stay at where they were for about a second. Maddening.

Ah. That’s never bothered me. And, apparently, it exists for a reason.

Didn’t you just say you wanted an EV?

EDIT: I think I might be thinking of someone else. Anyway, reducing emissions is good.

Of course it is. But when they do annoying things to tick boxes like suggest you change into 6th gear at 20mph it's... Annoying.
