Yours is lovely too, Geoffrey. In fact, the current front runner for my next car is an F30 340i (or 335i, but I’d prefer the extra 20HP if I can get it). But I will always have a soft spot for the E46 and E9x M3s, as they were the ones that were in the mix at the height of my car fandom.

Now, like everything else, I just see what once was, the direction we’re heading, and the disappointment along the path. But a naturally aspirated BMW V8 or I6 mated to a (5 or) 6 speed manual can do things for the soul not yet understood by man.

The GT350 is my favorite Mustang of all time, I think! I love It so much. Definitely one of my lottery cars.

The Dark Horse eliminates the HP and Torque advantage (Actually has a bit more) of the flat plane crank GT350 and has all the suspension bits including the carbon fiber wheels available (At least that was what the initial press release said ...but Ford has reneged on several things the past few years), and a bit better aero since it has some of the GT500 newer aero that has continued to be developed since the 500 release. It will not have the flat plane howl, but it will be able to take advantage of turbo or belt driven superchargers to gain even more HP(think C7 vs C8 Z06...or the Cadillac V series) . I think the Dark Horse is also a bit less than the price the GT350 was going for new. Greed on the dealers part with no control from Ford may change that. The CEO has indicated he was looking into it, but when they did that on the trucks they just raised the retail price and then the dealers added to that. So the net was they made it worse.

That may be the case, but the sound and looks of the GT350 put it way over the Dark Horse for me.

    It certainly has style, BUT:
"Somewhere in the region of €1.7 million. And that's before tax."

    Too rich for my blood.
