Had a bit of a glitch with the Emira ; got a 'Parking Brake Service Required' message on screen and wouldn't start !
Apparently a 'known bug' - Good old 'turn it off then back on again' fix after waiting 10 mins for it to go to sleep. Was told a s/w update would sort it out, so off I went to dealer. In and out within an hour.

Don't know if the others were there for the same reason; didn't see either of the owners.

Yes and no, I believe, depending on relative speed, traffic conditions, etc. - but I haven’t looked it up.

£100 fine for my small plate, and no points fair enough. I would have got away with it as I 'passed the attitude test' (they usually ignore it) but my mate was done speeding on my bike a couple of years ago sooo I don't get away with it. Strange.
What is undertaking? We may call it something else.
    Cheers,

I believe it's passing on the curbside so for us on the right if a real lane I can't see the issue

In the uk Lane splitting, or 'filtering' in a motorcycle is totally legal. Weirdly in 50 states in the us it's illegals - cali and one another it's legal. This is passing between lanes of traffic on either side. Absolutely fine when traffic is stationary or 'slow', according to the highway code. Slow is undefined in the highway code. The traffic today was doing maybe 40 in a 70 and I weaved between the cars at less than 70 making progress. I saw the marked cop car but didn't know this was a crime so proceeded.

It's not a crime, and that's what most annoying: this isn't a law, it's some guidelines. That are arbitrary and appear to be enforced legally.

Episodes like this are simply part of the charm of owning a Lotus.

What is undertaking? Were you measuring people for coffins or what?

Frustrating, but in reality: A quick fix and no major inconvenience. Besides, I anticipated some teething troubles. Thankfully nothing went wrong during my road trip 'North of the Border'.
