Just make surprisingly quiet engine noises and set yourself on fire, that’s basically the ownership experience of anything with that Gallardo V10. When I did a track day experience, they had 3 Gallardos and one Ferrari. All 3 Gallardos needed to be rested with their bonnets open multiple times during the day, often all three needing it at once. The Ferrari ran the track day all day, without once needing to be rested or attended to in any way. The V8 coupe 6 speed is definitely the most desirable, in my opinion. It’s the best balanced and least likely to catch fire, as well as being lighter and better handling than the V10.
Yes. I’ve been obsessed with this car since they added it to Forza Horizon 5 and I’ve been racking up the miles on my virtual one while watching Harry’s Garage’s episode on the Emira. Is it the best GT on the market ride now from a holistic perspective? It might be. At the very least, it’s the car on sale now that I want most.Lotus emira 75k
Yes. Just yes to all this. I might prefer the 911 Turbo in coupe form, but it’s one of the few where I go back and forth. Normally I strongly prefer either the coupe or the convertible, but with modern 911s, especially the Turbo, it’s close. And the 430 cabriolet in a 6 speed manual, especially in dark blue…that’s the car I see in my dreams. Probably the last properly good looking Ferrari we’ll ever see.997 turbo manual drop top 48k

V10 in r8 isn't the lambo one actually, it's very reliable. I think

I’m not so sure about that:
“Meanwhile, as Lamborghini's Gallardo was giving Ferrari something to think about, Audi had the Porsche 911 Turbo firmly in its sights. And in December 2008 its R8 5.2 FSI Quattro was finally revealed, complete with a slightly-muted version of the Gallardo's V10 powerplant.”

Later cars still affected by fire risk, seemingly a different issue though:

Yeah there's deffo a connection but some reviews I've watched on v10 r8 ownership said 'don't be scared of the lambo association, these engines are different and not the problem prone ones the Italian brother has'. It sure who's right, but they do seem reliable from goodle that's for sure.

The engine fires may not be due solely to the engine. It might not cool as well in the mid-engine placement, other parts might be different that are contributing to the issue. But the internet is littered with photos of burnt out R8 V10s and Gallardos.
And even if there isn’t a problem, there’s still the fact that most journalists I’ve read preferred the way the R8 V8 drove to the V10, despite the extra power. That V8 is a peach too, from the RS4.
