It's a 1974 Triumph Toledo with 'a few modifications'. It's not what you'd call 'fast' (certainly by modern standards) but it's set up just right (for me); very 'chuckable' and is the most fun.

Yeah, I know; but I was specifically referring to track days.

Bike people! I need your help.

What motorcycles that are similar aesthetically to bikes like the Triumph Thruxton or Bonneville and would be comfortable to ride long distances? I’m doing research for a game, I’m looking for options. Budget not really a concern, aesthetics first, then comfort, with the ability to throw on a saddlebag.

The main aesthetic of these bikes are the super low handlebars, which is what makes for the stretched out, uncomfortable riding position I'd say, so, hard to think of anything similar but different...Something with higher stock bars - Indian of some sort - scout bobber or similar? Screen helps comfort too - no wind.

I was thinking more about the retro aesthetic than the clip-on handlebars. While it’s true that clip-ons look much cooler, I don’t think the Bonneville models have them. They’re more of a standard seating position, I believe.

Just how much less comfortable are clip on bars, anyway? The Norton Commando 961 has both available:

Sexy little thing. Undoubtedly the Cafe Racer model with the clip on handlebars looks better than the sport, but if it’s a person’s only means of transportation, realistically, they’d want something more comfortable. Unless the difference isn’t that bad.

Awesome. Thruxton, perchance ? I'm only guessing Thruxton because I know they've recently taken delivery of an Emira.

...unless you're telling us you have an Emira ?

Ahhhhh ! A 'grown up' who understands.

Not that one, no. My other one ( a 2-door) is 'Sprinted'. That one has a Dolomite 1850 engine with a high-lift cam, 'Sprint' carbs, blah, blah, blah... Not wishing to bore anyone with the finer details.

Alan isn't grown up. He's old yes, but not grown up.
