Thread: The cars and bikes thread!

I've had launch control on several cars, never used it even just to see what it was like. Just seems like a bad idea for the car's health. And anyway, if the car's got enough torque to need launch control, you don't need it to get off the line quickly. And if it doesn't have enough torque to need it, well...

I’ve never tried mine either, and I think you have to disable stop-start before you use it, and maybe something else. In that time, you could be off down the road.

I’ve never used my flappy paddles either, but at least I understand the rationale, and I can imagine how they could be useful - if I could be bothered.

I could not find them when I looked. Thought they were out of production. Thank god no wood.

Everyone was going all googley eyed about that Triumph the other day. While I think it is a looker, having had to work on a few of those and some MG TD with wood frames to adjust doors and a few other things it wished they would have pushed them all ooff a cliff. Total flexy flyer POS. These had the added bonus of leaking oil out of everything including the shocks.

Given your transmission preference it would think both feet and maybe a right hand.

With a great rider, yes. It's really difficult to launch a bike, I would think less than 20% of riders can run the rated 1/4 mile of their superbikes. Launch control on bikes can help the inexperienced, but they are slower than a good rider using none of the electronic aids.

The various 3 wheelers out there always struck me as the worst combination of cars and motorcycles.
This was documented as E-85 R which appeared to be a racing grade.

Agree on the three wheelers except for the Piaggio scooter that leaned in the corners. Worked more like a normal cycle.

    Cheers,

Indeed, but that’s a less snappy punchline.

    Gorgeous color!
    Bad-ass Ford.

A co-worker had one a few years ago. He loved it but let it go when he started driving more than 1 mile a day.
I see the dented bumper. Any other body damage?
