Thread: The cars and bikes thread!

But wouldn't the bike still be faster off the line, just due to the sheer additional inertia needed to get the car moving vs. the bike? Physics was never my expertise, but it seems to me even with less hp per pound, the fact that it would weigh, say, 1/4 of what the car would should result in better acceleration.

Bikes usually win drag races - mine just pulls a 10 second quarter mile. But a website said the hebbesy F5 does it in 8 so...

At least it's getting closer. Just think about all the money you're saving on gas not having it yet, while prices keep going down.

I looked the Raptor up when it was first mentioned here. Impressive, but two of those would have trouble passing each other on some of our local roads.

It's Monterey Car Week around here, and it's nearly impossible to do any errands without a parade of million dollar toys passing by. My wife tried to snap a few quick pics from the passenger window when we did an errand yesterday, but it's a very small sample. For example, I think half the Porche race team is here for the Concours this weekend. Perhaps there will be some events to keep them out of trouble at Laguna Seca, about 15 miles north of here.

1948 Jaguar XKE, Lamborghini Huracan, a lowly Porche Carrera track car, and some generic Ferrarii that looked more like a Tesla 300.

Reaching peak car around Carmel this weekend. We went down the hill for an errand on Saturday afternoon, and stumbled into the Ferrari owners club gathering for the west coast. Parked nearby: a vintage Triumph and a Pagani Huayra, a few humble Maserati and other baubles. This car thread is not my usual haunts - I'm a cardiot, so I'll just post these here and shuffle away in my Toyota hybrid. Sniff.
