Thread: Great movie quotes!

  1. #51
That film has so many 'right in front of you' gags, and 'going on in the background' gags that you can watch it 100 times and you see another new one ! (OK maybe by the 20th time you've seen 'em all )

PS: That wasn't a quote , just responding to crownpuller

    Setting the scene:

Harmonica sound. Train rolls away, revealing "Harmonica" (Charles Bronson, playing harmonica) across the tracks from Snaky (Jack Elam), Stony (Woody Strode) and Knuckles (Al Mulock).

Harmonica "Then Frank?" Snaky shakes his head "Frank sent us". Harmonica "D'you bring a horse for me?" Looking at the 3 horses behind them, Snaky chuckles "Well... looks like we're... looks like we're shy one horse". Harmoinca shakes head no "You brought two too many".

Okay, that was an entire scene. More or less. Watch the clip here. Or better yet, watch the whole film (if you have Amazon Prime, it will stream free there).

This is a great film, one of the truly great Westerns of all time.

    Regards, T Bone

Even a broken watch shows correct time once or twice a day. I ought to know, I have a few!

One of my all time favourite toons from an all time favourite band (Colourbox) sampled those very lyrics and more back in the 80's (28 seconds in, but listen to the whole track , it's very cool- and a very deep bass line on the original)

What you don't get from the words alone is the length of the set up and how long the film just stays with them waiting for his arrival.

Another from Colourbox , with LOADS of film quotes in it - see if you can recognise them all - they were famous for using voice clips from films

    Shane: I've heard that you're a low-down Yankee liar.

    Wilson: Prove it.

from Shane. Another one of the best westerns IMO. Jack Palance was nominated for an Oscar for supporting actor even though it seems he didn't have very many lines. He made them count.
