I mean, the Supra is a Supra. A legendary nameplate. But the Z4 looks so good and is open top.

Actually I love a drop top. Z4 is probably a better option for me if uk gets a manual

Kind of a useless article since they missed several key points. First the suspensions are completely different. The Toyota suspension and other tuning works and the BMW is the opposite. Some how the Supra can be had loaded in the $50's with the I6 where the BMW has to go over $75K to get the six and not the turbo four. If getting rid of options other than color give you this then Toyota and Lexus should just load up all their cars and give flat pricing. At the BMW starting price point it just needs to be ignored since a very sorted Corvette with a z51 setup is easily optioned at that price point. I love inline sixes, but come on it's no contest at that price. The BMW has been so trounced by the Supra that no one even brings one to any comparison anymore. The Z4 has always been the last place finisher since it's original inception. For years it was always behind the Boxster/Cayman and Audi TT and now it being relegated to irrelevant by a car that it is built on the same line as it. The Supra has shown you can actually build a successful mid level sports car at a reasonable price. BMW has show they should have just let Toyota do the tuning and built a fix roof M coupe as a price leader with the same options as the Supra.
    Cheers,

Sit in this serval times. If it fits...good, but if not it will not be a happy experience. Doesn't need to be a manual for that.

I have liked the M Coupe/Roadster since inception - S52 and (the more desirable) S54 coupes and roadsters are rising in value. They are cool cars, a buddy did an LSx swap into a roadster with flared fenders and CCWs with 315s at all 4 corners.

In my Googling, and in the article you linked, it’s all still a rumor. The way BMW is going now, I don’t have much trust in them making the low profit, enthusiast-centric decision rather than continuing down their current path of dropping manuals at every level and making it so you need to buy options packages to get a BMW of today feel anything like a BMW of even 10 years ago. As my mother likes to say, many a slip between the cup and the lip. Z4 doesn’t have a manual until the Z4 has a manual.

Despite my love of car cleaning I have never actually polished a car before. Very satisfying! Just polishing out sap marks etc, the paint is in good nick so no great before/after shots but still. My mother's car is in hellish shape I'm going to practice on hers next weekend, maybe I'll start up a detailing business.

Maybe a Supra might be a better choice, eh?
