Co-Worker made a birthday cake for my mom. Kahlua soaked cake with hazelnut buttercream on the inside.

Simple plate of pasta tonight.
Sauce is plum tomatoes briefly buzzed with a hand blender, onions and basil with a handful of chestnut mushrooms and a leftover roast chicken breast from yesterday's lunch
Oh, and a Mythos (ran out of Menabrea) to wash it down

A couple of the elements of our Strays and orphans Easter feast.

Apple cider brined smoked spatchcoked turkey. This 5 kilo bird took less than three hours to cook and two of those were at 220F, while th final hour-ish was at 300. Moist, delicious and subtly smoky.



Glass bread again. It is currently my favourite bread to bake.

Mushrooms growing. I discovered lions mane mushrooms in california this year; you can't buy them UK supermarkets (probably can from specialist shops) so I'm growing them! Pink oysters too - third flourish from this farm.
