Well, the question seems moot for now, but I would vote Tag -- not a close question for me. I don't see them as being on the same level.

I have several mid size (34mm?) Formula 1's (admittedly a bit toy-like), two Formula 1 chronos which I wear occasionally, a 2000 chrono which I never wear and have lost interest in and a late 90's/early 2000's Carrera reissue which I *should* wear.

well if I can sell the dreadnought which is to small for me it might be a question again but had decide tag and had put in a couple of bids on various chronos and a gulf which was decline when saw something I went a little crazy on and spent more then I think I have every done before on one watch only happen as been selling with out seeing anything to buy so the pot was growing way more then my norm, I do get concern with wearing expensive watches .
and this will fly under the radar it's sorta know for it a quite dignify class that don't need to shout look at me it's just a watch but still a dam good eye turner

but not saying more as remember once was shouting my mouth off about one only for the seller to pull saying faulty (precista that I still hunting to this day ) so yep and no not it

as like luminox... but sold one because of damaged to the lugs from spring bars being wrongly used and had dug grooves in the lugs never meationed when bought. but the other one was stronger but price wise say a chrono from luminox and tag might roughly be the same price depending model tag look for hippy and funky ..luminox are to be tough and not very pretty ..think am going to have to get one of each and see

Yes. Luminox is an ok watch for what it is, but I can't picture the Luminox I would choose over a TAG. Some TAGs are repulsive, sure, but some are simply wonderful. TAG simply makes a better watch.

I don't think I've ever considered a Luminox. I've had a few Tags including one of the early 80's plastic F1. I think I gave it to my brother as a first dive watch when I bought my Sub in 85. I had a black Titanium Aquaracer LE about 10 years ago which was quite nice. It had very bright yellow lume with better than average glow time, a Cyclops for the 9 o'clock date and a rubber coated bezel that was very easy to operate. I look for one from time to time preowned since it is one of my few regrets. I've also entertained a Monaco, but the ones with the more interesting movements have the indexes that drive me crazy. A nice last generation Silverstone would also get some consideration. Would prefer the brown. These might not fit in the range you were thinking?
