Let me know what you're thinking about eating. I'll probably have some ideas. I'm going to Zahav this week.

Wild rice salad with sauté mushrooms, onion and garlic. Roasted Asparagus and goats cheese. Served on a bed of Arugula/rocket and romaine with a white balsamic vinaigrette. (I'm sure spell check is wrong on that last word)

Who tonight is now going to post a big juicy steak to tempt me with?

Sounds delicious. Vegetarian good can be epic. Check the menu of this place in my town

A taster below. However, I wouldn't want to deprive myself of meat. So you eat fish? What are your reasons?

MrsO has always been an almost vegetarian and if I fancy red meat when we are out for dinner then I have some. The less I have the less I fancy it.
We both eat fish and probably cook a dish with fish in it once every week or 2.
I do all the cooking at home and have a book with my personal collection of receipts to work from and they are mostly vegan or vegetarian, but I am not obsessive. If it is a vegan recipe that calls for cheese I will use proper cheese not vegan cheese, what ever makes the food taste better.
The kids generally eat what we eat and to them it is just their normal food, if they are at a party and want hot dog or burger that is fine and if we are out for lunch or it is pizza night and they want pepperoni then that is ok too.
We have no ethical reasons for not eating meat, I worked in my dads abattoir for many years as a child in school holidays and it does not bother me at all.
We are just trying to eat a healthy varied diet that is balanced and tasty. There are no fast food chains here, imagine no Golden Arches! We also don't buy any ready meals and cook everything from scratch, I am lucky that with our lifestyle here I have the time to be able to do that.

The menu you posted shows some great unusual ingredients, a lot of which I have not heard of and certainly can't buy here but that is exactly the sort of place I would love to try when traveling .

Tonight it will be a Caesar salad with a dressing based around capers and nutritional yeast served with tofu marinated in a mix of tamari, red wine vinegar and a splash of liquid smoke.

Lunch today comes courtesy of inspiration from two of my favourite artists. An Egg Cream as described in Lou Reed's album New York and a Western Sandwich which I first learned of from one of Ed McBain's 87th Precinct novels.

In the UK , it's usual to cook the sausages.

Oh, they're cooked. I did not grill them though, which would give a different appearance. I did them slowly in wine.

Looks delicious. I'm going to an Israeli restaurant tomorrow night called Zahav. I'll make sure to document the meal.
