Yeah my vert wouldn't be great - it's flexy af.
I didn't know the supra smashed the Z4 - interesting. It has loads more power I think no?

They claim nearly 40 more HP for the Z4 over the Supra, but I was not talking about the Z4. No one raced that here. I’m talking your M3 and M2 against the Supra. The M has a serious power advantage, but doesn’t seem to be able to use its tires as well. Watch them on the track they don’t hold their lines that well. The Supra’s crushed them here.

Back to my original point. The newer BMW's don't seem to be dialed in as well as the older ones were. While they may seem fast that can't make up for something that can not hold it's line or the nose washes out on it. That is what I feel when I drive the M2 Competition. The road matters also according to a few of the reviews. For some roads the BMW completion is the better tool, and for others the Supra is the better tool. From what has been written the BMW M2 Comp when out of it's element is scary to drive. I can't say it was scary, but is was not as planted as my F-Type. I suspect the ones that are noted as scary may have more to do with the tires that were fitted. Given car brands generally have multiple brands of tires on the same car with the same packages It's kind or hard to get a accurate read, and some of it just comes down to preferences. My F-Type had Pirelli which were excellent in the wet and great feel and feedback, where the XJR we owned had Michelin Comp Sport II and scared the hell out of me in the wet. Many consider the Michelin's the better tires, but for me the Hankook that replaced them were worlds better. Given when it rains where I I live it dumps a lot of water fast so driving in rain is nearly a daily occurrence 9 months out of the year. Water shedding is very important around here. Also I've notice that the heat here generally makes sticky tires pick up too much from the surface and make the tires greasy IMO. I first learned how to slide a car and steer with the rear wheels on dirt so I tend to like a touch softer side wall than other people. One of the key things I see hurting BMW sold around here are they come fitted with run flats tires pretty much on every model. The construction of run flat tires doe not make them the best fit for performance cars. The side walls tend to make them chatter on bumpy roads and they seem to have a delayed side to side transition feel.
Also note BHP is not everything. The 495bhp C8 Stingray Corvette z51 can best every number of the C7 C06 (650 bhp and 650 ftlbs of torque) and ZR1 (755 bhp) except braking . This includes lap times when alignment is set properly for track use. So I can see the Supra besting the much more powerful M2 Comp. It's lighter and better dialed in. Even more evident on the track (at least West palm Beach Raceway and Sebring). Spinning tires and tires sliding out on the road tend to make fast cars slower than they should be.

That’s interesting. I never gave the Supra a second thought because, well, it’s kind of ugly and automatic only, so I wouldn’t ever buy one. I had no idea it was actually good. I just assumed it was another disappointment like the new NSX.

It was the only dealership out of the 5 near me I contacted that would accept it. It might have helped that I've had my car serviced there before. She got the S line which ended up being less than what some are selling the base model for. To be fair I only came across 1 dealership, in West Palm Beach, that was doing market adjustments. They wanted $5K over MSRP.
