    The cars and bikes thread!

Order a new Bronco. Seven speed manual trans available if you take the Turbo four verses the twin turbo six, convertible with either soft or hard top(or both). If you get the four door the doors and the front hard top store in the back. Will go anywhere. Two and four door option. Prices range from $29K-$62K. Plus they look cool. I would recommend the Badlands model minus the Sasquach package which can't be added to one with the manual trans. This is the most capable. Black Damond with the Aluminum wheels (I'm just not in to steel wheels)m if you want a little more economical. You have to stay with the stand equipment to keep the manual. Both of these options have the Marine Grade Vinyl that can get wet and rubber floors with drains so you can hose it out. The Bad Lands has a whole lot more standard and is super capable. With the Automatic you get a whole lot more neat features like trail turn that drags the inside rear wheel when on the trail to turn in a tighter radius.

The Jeep is also an option but I have reservation on FCA products. It’s also not as developed as much as the Bronco unless you consider a fold down windshield important when you fire your machine gun from the rear.

I've also given some consideration to the Golf R (worried it'll feel a bit mundane compared to my Z4, no sunroof in the latest model) and the TT RS (somewhat rare and increasingly out of budget with recent market spikes).

    I searched on Autotrader ...

    - 2013 and newer
    - no SUVs or trucks or crossovers
    - less than 45k miles
    - less than $33k asking
    - no FWD
    - manual transmission

... lots of WRX, Camaros, Challengers, Mustangs, Miatas (and the Fiat copy) with the occasional Golf and 4 series thrown in.

A few options that seemed nice in that range...

    https://tinyurl.com/bmw430forraza - '17 430, 31k miles for $29k asking

https://tinyurl.com/bmw4seriesforraza - not a performance model, but looks nicely appointed. '16 428 coupe, 36k miles for $24k asking (so there is room to neg down).

https://tinyurl.com/mustangforraza - newer Mustang (and the best color) - '20 Mustang, 5300 miles for $32k asking - almost new, factory warranty, lots of options

https://tinyurl.com/2021Mustangforraza - 0 miles '21 Mustang for $31k asking - nice option if you like the Mustangs. Brand new, full warranty, etc.

Wicked. I know it's been a long time coming.

It's annoying when they limit options, like the new m car comps are all auto, but the non comps are manual. I'm sure they have done research but still...

Jeep *is* an option? But you've ordered the bronco?

I'd take the 235i over any of those any day. Raza' a requirements were very similar to mine - not loads better then the bimmers in this category.

Agreed. The 4 would be nice if he wanted to occasionally carry humans in the back seat.

Thank you for this! I appreciate the time you put into it. The 430i is interesting, but like you said, I fear the 428i will feel boring compared to my Z4. Same goes for the Mustangs, unfortunately. The one to have, if you can’t get the Shelby GT350, is the GT with the Performance Pack. Otherwise, you’re left with a car the size and weight of a midsize sedan that has a pretty soft suspension and decent acceleration that you can’t really feel because it’s dulled by all the weight around you.

I have given thought to the STI and the Evo X, but the STI is just a bit too much on the ugly side for me to truly be happy with one and Evo X is beginning to get a little long in the tooth.

Wait, are you telling me to order a Ford Bronco? I think we’re not on the same page as to the kind of cars I like to drive. I could see a Bronco in my garage, but only as maybe a 3rd or even 4th car. Not as something to drive everyday, I’d lose my mind driving a car like that.

Cold air intake and downpipe, done - more grunt, much better throttle response - cat back exhaust scheduled for Wednesday. Going with the AWE "Touring" exhaust.

Still debating the tunes - APR has a "plus" tune that adds about 50-60HP and 50-60 FP of torque (vs 80-100 hp and about 70FP on the stage 1), and, they cover any factory warranty issues that the mani may not. Hmmm.

I forgot that APR has that option. Might be a good compromise.

    We needs pics.
