It was, and thanks to the weather. Usually it's 90s and so humid by now. But it was 70 and low humidity and even a slight breeze (so no bugs). Just perfect. I could take this weather everyday.

Another amazing day and evening here in HOTLANTA...70s, low humidity...again - no complaints, so we take advantage and eat on the deck.

My wife wanted cheesy burgers and she wasn't kidding - (she sliced these)- English Cheddar, and Blue Cheese on turkey burgers which we mixed in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, Cumin, mayo, and a dash of hot sauce.

Agree, I’ve been to Jamaica dozens of times and we have about a half dozen Jamaican neighbors and two dozen famous Jamaican restaurants and I’ve never heard of pickled bananas. Mostly plantains or fried bananas.

Now the the real treat for me is a jerk pork cutter on our favorite places fresh sweet bun, a half dozen jerk wings with green pepper, and fresh honey mustard sauce. Then a slice of coconut custard pie with a toasted coconut crust. I think I know where I’m going for lunch. My wife does not like jerk seasoning so when her one friend comes to town we hit the Calypso restaurant a few times a week.
    Cheers,

    Michael

This is the guy that wrote the recipe I use, and they really are a revelation. We do eat a lot of plantain or green bananas when we eat Caribbean, in fact we made green banana fritters as a side with a rundown on Saturday, but the pickled bananas have become a staple.

First ripe tomatoes from this summer's crop means one thing at our house: Caprese salad! Some fresh buffalo mozzarella, garden basil, drizzle of olive oil and balsamic. Went well last night with some slivers of tritip and roasted baby taters.

A garden dish, trying to use up zucchini (courgettes for you English speakers.) Zucchini Blini with smoked salmon, horseradish-yogurt sauce, garden tomato salad. We grew the horseradish, tomatoes, plus the zucchini and potatoes that went into the blini. Turned out really delicious.
