FS: TWO rare Rado Chronometers, ca. 1969 ...39mm in steel!

In brief, these are exceptionally rare (far fewer than 1000 made), nicely proportioned (39mm case width), and a great combination of retro style with modern elements. I'm happy to answer questions.

Watch with mvt #60445 has a very clean dial, hands are well-preserved and anchor swings freely. The crystal is original, but scratched and shows signs of previous polishing. It is unclear how thick it is, but additional polishing may be feasible. The case is very good—it shows no evidence of being polished. Milled sides and angled edges are still quite crisp. Movement is very presentable but took a little while to get running initially, and shows signs of minor intrusion of debris. A cleaning is recommended. Crown is unsigned replacement, but fits well. This watch has a rotor with Chronometer engraved, which is less common.

Watch with mvt #60290 has even patina on the dial, hands are well-preserved and anchor swings freely. The crystal is not signed and is therefore a replacement, which may explain the patina on the dial, as the movement is very clean, so no moisture seems to have entered from back or crown. The case is very good—it shows no evidence of being polished. Milled sides and angled edges are still quite crisp. Movement is running well and has correct crown (which is almost too thin to hand-wind, but tucks nicely into case side). Movement service history is unknown. Rotor is not marked Chronometer.

An original bracelet, which is specific to this model, is available, and would appear to fit a wrist of ~7” or perhaps more. Unfortunately, it is lacking one fitted end-piece and a spring-bar within the clasp. The latter is an easy fix (I will look in my parts for a replacement, but may not have the correct size). Replacing the end-piece may be more of a challenge, although other Rado models used a variant of the 11821 case (LiteNite, Day-Night, Jetliner 333, Ref. 11902, etc.) and may have bracelet components which could be made to fit.
