    Oh good!

Super easy to make - add grounds to cold water then once boiled pour into cups. I use this stuff - seems to be the standard Name: Screenshot_20201207-104037_Chrome.jpg

No sugar if I'm having it with baklava or something else sweet, sugar on its own sometimes (unusually for me, I never take sugar with any other coffee).

You can get electric makers but I like the simple copper stove top hobs

All of those recommendations echo what I read on a Turkish-American’s blog about making coffee “like mama used to make” in the old country. I’ll definitely go the copper pot route, but I’ll try to find one with an insulated handle.

I never have sugar in coffee generally — but she made a point about the tradition of having a sweet with the coffee. When a traditional treat is unavailable, her fallback is a bit if chocolate.

The only bummer is that my wife, apparently, doesn’t like Turkish coffee — so I’ll be drinking it alone or when we have guests.

Honestly it's way better when you make it yourself. In cafes they serve it in tiny cups, and 50% of it is undrinkable grounds so it's like 1/4 of an espresso of drink. When you make it yourself you add more water and basically pour yourself an espresso - doesn't taste all that different. Just a bit of grounds at the bottom. You'll win the lady round

Let the record reflect that you’ve never met my wife.

I think I have a drinking problem. After a sterling performance over the past 3 months I've now done 2 days off the booze (almost a record for me in the past decade) due to a splitting 2-day hangover and crippling kidney pain. Gonna knock it on the head, during the week at least.

Have a drink for me boys and girls!

You’ve mentioned the possibility of a problem before, and you do drink more than is sustainable in the long-term.

    Good luck.

The body will tell us what it needs, but only if we listen. Sometimes, it wants a timeout. Best of luck to you, Geoff, and I hope this is just a short-term blip.
Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Watching friends and clients wrestle with this issue, I believe you should trust your instincts.

Good luck and remember that you have a forum full of friends right here.

Saltaire triple choc stout. Pretty decent, I would say. TGIF.
