What's the difference between a like and rep'ing something? Can I do that? I got a guy here that I need to buy a drink for or something, but he's a little bit of thousands of kilometers and many countries (and an ocean) from me. His reputation here should be noted.

A like is a like; reputation I give quite rarely and for knowledgeable or excellent posts. It builds into a big green bar above your avatar.

A "like" means you agree with the post or like it for some other reason. It's specific to that post. Rep'ing is the up/down arrows under the avatar and it adds to the member's overall reputation. You don't only like the post, you think the member deserves to be acknowledged positively for making it. It's a step up from a "like."

Along with badges, likes and reputation are ways to give member's positive feedback for what they do here.

Oh, I thought he was joking about reporting the post. I didn't think it was funny...

You know those pasta sauces in Goodfellas? Quality ingredients, lovingly prepared, simmered together for hours? That's exactly what I'm not eating right now.

Edit: thank god that I had spent a bit more than usual on the pasta. That has to be the most insipid concoction I've come up with in a while.
