    What are you drinking?

I can’t believe I’m at the fire pit in November. I’m drinking bourbon to relax, not to keep warm. Listening to the first Dead and Company show I saw, St. Louis, 11/20/2015

Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Do you mean you should be under snow by now in Maine?

    Um, yummy?

Very smooth, classic Glenmorangie but with just a hint of sweetness.

This would be wicked early for snow in southern Maine but the temps should be in the 30s, not the lower 70s.

I am moving in a Scotch direction of late, mostly because I found a good one that isn’t ridiculously expensive.

I discovered after experiencing Laphroaig, which is so peaty that the Redhead makes me open windows if I pull the cork, that I actually like peaty island Scotch better than the more smokey flavors of highland Scotch. My discovery was Bowmore 12-year, one of the traditional Islayan distilleries that everybody but me already knew about. It’s peaty but mildly so, very flavorful and no hint of harshness. It’s actually smoother than my usual Elijah Craig bourbon, which is pretty dang smooth. It’s easy to drink neat.

Maybe just a hint of florals in the aftertaste, but nothing annoying at all.

It’s expensive enough to prevent alcoholism, but tasty enough to lead one astray.
