Saturday evening - pizza, Scandi-noir and a bottle of something red. Happy man.

I know, it sounds gross, but it is really quite good. Not going to lie: it is sweet. It’s not my regular bourbon (Wiggley Bridge, a local Maine distiller) but it makes for a nice change of pace.

But the taste is actually quite mild and unremarkable; frankly a bit of a disappointment. It lacks the catch-your-throat pettiness of a Laphroaig or Ardbeg.

Certainly worth a try if you like Islay malts, depending on what it costs. Of course, I don’t know as it was a gift.

Edit: it runs about $100 a bottle based off the web. I don’t know what this is in £ anymore!

It sounds almost as bad as my kipper smoked Balvenie. Maybe they should blend them!

    Picini? Is that the grape?

    Scandi-noir. Movie?

Piccini is the wine maker. I’d guess that it’s a blend of grapes. Nothing special, but a mouth-filling affordable from the supermarket.

The Scandi-noir in question was ‘The Bridge’, a Danish/Swedish TV series from about ten years ago.

What's the story with the glass? Looks like Finnish design from the 70's.

I'm actually sick of alcohol. 2 weeks of solid boozing - cocktails every day. I'd quit, but my friend is joining me today and she's a bull I'm a China shop around booze so that's not gonna happen.

Reading this post after having been stuck in a dry country since late 2018....

I'd Schwarzkopf it daily, except I couldn't be bothered with the inevitable explanations...
