Well, culturally, dogs aren’t food to you or me. A sheep is.

Of course! Tis a thing of tradition. We probably used to eat them, and loads of other things.

A very, very long time ago. They say dogs have been domesticated for as many as 50,000 years.

With British cooking, how could you even tell whether you're eating horse or not?

Raw horse is a delicacy in Japan, but I couldn't find it when I was there.

I notice you didn’t say ‘British cuisine’, because that would be clearly ridiculous

My chance came in a Norwegian restaurant, but my (British, horseowning) instructor said I’d fail the course I was on if I had the horse

You’ve got one up on me. When I was in Germany visiting son and DIL, they mentioned you some places do carry horse meat. We were so busy sight seeing that I forgot to follow up in that!

Being Dutch I have had horse meat, but as a deli meat. I admit that I remember it being quite delicious, but I have not eaten it in decades now.
