It was pretty darn good. There was a fair bit of vinegar in the vinaigrette, so it tempered the sweetness of the oranges pretty well.

I certainly won't disagree with you there, but why does a decent amount of the vegan food look and taste (kind of) like non-vegan food? That is something I have yet to grasp.

Most of you know that I don’t celebrate Father’s Day, so I won’t bore you with those details. This is what I made for dinner. Olive fed A4 wagyu with pearl couscous and roasted asparagus. It was delicious.

Cos meat is delicious and I love the taste of it? Just would rather not kill animals. If they grew it in pitri dishes without brains I would chow down on steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I always wonder why carnivores take offence to imitation meat as many (maybe not you) do

In fact yesterday I had a dilemma. I was rock climbing and a frigging sheep fell over the cliff above me and smashed into the ground. Crazy shit! Turns out a dog had chased it off the edge - poor little fella We talked hypothetically about eating it. I was in two minds.

Feels very un-vegan to let it go to waste, honestly.

About a 100 years ago or so, when I entered the workforce, we used to get a Brit mag in our office called the New Scientist or something like that. To be frank, I don't know if it still exists. Along the various scientific articles they had, they ran a small cartoon strip. One of the long running gags or something like that was their developing something like "newfood." Can't remember exactly given the years.

But lo and behold now that we things like the faux hamburger and things like that, it seems to have come true.

I don't take offense to it, I just marvel at the lengths companies will go through to provide the same thing, just not the same thing. For example, I have eaten some wonderful black bean burgers and some that were not that wonderful. If there was more effort in making a superb black bean burger, I could skip hamburger. But I might have to draw the line at sausage.

Absolutely. Lots of vegan food is shite. It is getting very good though. We'll be forced to switch when the demand for meat outstrips supply in future anyway.
