    Yes, do get the rower!

Exercising so many muscle groups - and *fun* in a way treadmills and stationary cycling just aren’t
It's the final countdown! PM me before they're all gone!

We both use them regularly at the gym, but I already have enough stuff down there.

Instead of buying adjustable weights or a ton of dumbbells I went with with Bodyboss 2.0 and extra bands. Also bought an I-beam pull up bar. Can't play hockey so I'm running more than ever. From 5k 2-3x wk to at least 5k, 10k, 15k weather permitting as it's not totally spring yet. Name: BodyBoss-Home-Gym-1.jpg

I passed around some of my heavier dumbbells and kettlebells to friends that had no gym equipment. I have more than enough with a few bars, lots of plates, bands, benches and the remaining KB/DBs. Did some light squatting today. A little more than 2 weeks out from surgery, still need to keep the weights light for another few weeks until I get more bone growth and healing. Cleared for more light activity, starting with my safety squat bar.

We usually use this to tighten the upper and middle back, as it throws you forward puts more pressure on those areas vs a straight bar. Great for good mornings, too.
I am mate! Not as much as I'd have thought tbf - mainly cos I'm into climbing now (can't do that at home. Well, not without a few hundred quids worth of bits that I may yet get. Made a hangboard for finger strength Name: 20200329_122257.jpg

Training during COVID. I moved some gear outside this week and invited friends over for outdoor training. We're still figuring it out, but so far, so good. We've been blending strongman style carries and lifts with our traditional competitive lifts (squat, bench, dead). It's nice to get back to it after my neck surgery. I have some time before I can handle the same loads pre-surgery, but I've already worked close to double bodyweight on some exercises with no pain or discomfort (other than weight feeling heavy ).

We had freezing temps last week. I'm usually open May-Oct. When I had younger dogs I tried to be as close to Aoril Fool's to Halloween as possible, weather permitting.

During yesterday's hike, I decided to run a few sections. I felt great at the time, but I am paying for it today; quads mainly. The running has been too inconsistent to take it to the trails, but yesterday was encouraging. My last marathon was 2009 (14 between 1999-2009) and the ten years off is showing. My overall conditioning is ok, I just lack the muscle strength to go more than three miles at a time. I used to run 12 -15 miles every weekend no problem, with weekly mileage cracking 50's and up into the 60's at times. I just need so much more time to recover and it is becoming very frustrating. Getting older stops being fun once you've turned 25.
Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

You'll get back there, just stay at it and don't over train.
