I only really started watching football this year, and even so, pretty much only the Eagles. As a Penn State alum, it's a fact I usually have to hide, but when I was a student, I hated football. I've never been to a Penn State game.

love the FA cup games when the elite meet the lowly and when sometimes emotion overcomes talent - Gerrard again saved the day for the Reds -

Yeah, he was brilliant on a day the rest of the team were ho-hum.

Ben Arfa had his loan cancelled and contract terminated before signing with Nice. What's up with that? I always thought he was a good player.

He has fallen out with basically every manager he has had. He is talented but his off the field issues seem to be derailing his career. He has also struggled with weight issues and consistency.

That should have been a penalty and possibly a red card. ****ing ridiculous. More shameful refereeing.

Applause for the Sunderland fans for Borini as he leaves the field (with an assist). Very classy by the Wearside crowd.

A win, but a disappointing second half performance by Liverpool. Up a man, but not enough pressing, not enough attack, with only a one goal lead (which should have been at least two because of the denied penalty), they should have been in to kill the game off, shut the fans up, and make it a convincing win. Adam Johnson almost tied it up with a glorious strike. Johnson is a really good player, deserves a better team, to be honest.

Good of work rate from Balotelli when he came in, but again, no end product. It looked like Coutinho, Markovic, and Balotelli were the only ones who wanted a second goal, and that's not enough, even against 10 men.

Balotelli needs to start again. I love Borini, but even though Balotelli's form has been poor, he's undoubtedly a higher quality player than Borini and is still capable of amazing performances. Borini did really well today and it would be harsh to deny him another start, but it might be worth it.

Also, Lovren continues to be the worst defender in the league. Worst Prem purchase since Ozil.
