Just last week I made 8ltr Limoncello. Got a great recipe from a family in Italy.

In my experience there's great limoncello, and there's the cheap stuff that tastes like you're drinking dish wash detergent.
I still have a bottle from Italy in the freezer, because I tend to drink other stuff in the winter.

I never one found one worth buying, and every time someone defended it to me they would reference home made stuff. Conceptually it's pretty crude so it makes sense that small-scale TLC makes all the difference
