We’ve been car shopping through out the entire summer to replace everything in our garage (except the 2002 XK8) with two new vehicles. This means 3 for 2. After driving everything sometimes multiple times we decided on two Lexus. We wanted cars that are good for more than their warranty period yet enjoyable. We had been away from Lexus since some of the earlier designs just did not work for us when the went to the spindle grill. My wife wanted something not too big, quite, comfortable for long trips , and enough room when guests come. We drove a lot of Mid level SUV, but the ES sedan was her choice. We saw one of the new 2019 while out shopping, and it brought us back to the Lexus dealer. It is good looking IMO and has the biggest back seat space wise of any competitor ( even the
Larger a Lexus LS ). Blasting back from the airport early yesterday morning after dropping my wife, and her girl friend off it’s not the same ES as before. Was very comfortable at 90+. Maybe my quickest run from the airport to the house ever. Quite impressive.

The more difficult choice was what I was going to get. I will admit the new Corvette coming late in the game did mix things up a bit. The Lexus invite to our local track to drive the RCF Track edition and the LC kind of changed everything. It quickLy had me comparing everything to the LC. I don’t need hard edged sports cars any more. I want to fly, and be comfortable, and not worry about it breaking down. So the LC was it. It really is well buttoned down, and the input the pro drivers input shows in how it work. Fast but not taxing. I had settled on white with the white/ blue interior until the dealer told me I have first choice of the inspiration edition they had coming. These are a pearl green (we have had a similar color on our IS a few years ago) with saddle brown interiors. The inspiration series has comfort and performance options they do not offer together on the others LC models. These both arrive next Saturday for me to choose one. We’re leaning towards the inspiration model since we loved our IS in a less bold version of the color. These are one of 100 total made. I’m very excited and this could be the longest week ever.
