Couple things.

That BMW appears to be close to the color of my FType.

Last Tuesday I had to go up state for the annual meeting for my lake property association. On the way home a C8 Vette pulled in front of me. He was going pretty fast so I only saw it mostly from the back. When he was getting off I was lining up to get a photo when a truck blocked the view.

I mentioned the insane dealer markups here in Florida. Auto Week had this blip in the back of the latest issue. Apparently a dealer here had a Supra marked up and sold for $198,563.00. It’s sticker was apparently $50K. Makes the 2-2.5 x mark ups for SS Rolex look small. So paying 4x for a car should be added the the definition of insane.

Forgive me for not seeing the potentially obvious, but why don’t buyer’s just ‘import’ the car from elsewhere in the states ?

Are they just in short supply ?

I think the allocation for this year is sold out so if you did not commit during orders there is no additional supply for a while. Given the way dealers operate here they probably got a few just so they could do this or it was one that someone backed out on.

Being there are some die hard Toyota/Lexus fans I just can't imagine spending that amount for a Supra. You could have his and hers Lexus LC500 which are actually made by Toyota/Lexus and superior to the Supra in every way.

More work on the old E class yesterday. A friend loaned me his steam cleaner and I went through the interior with it. I steered clear of anything that may be damaged by water/steam, so I didn't get all the ground in dirt, just most of it. The results were very good, especially the door panels, steering wheel, and console lid.











The car is serviced and cleaned now, just need floor mats to be ready for the bad weather.

Looks great. I prefer ‘traditional’ Merc interiors to the current ones. I’m not keen on modern interiors that focus on infotainment.
